The disposable plastic cups we usually see are mainly divided into three types according to their raw materials: PET cups, PS cups, and PP cups.
1. PET cup
PET, This material is commonly used in mineral water bottles and cold drink cups in coffee shops. One disadvantage of PET disposable plastic cups is that they will soften and deform when exposed to hot water, thereby emitting harmful substances to the human body. And PET cups cannot be exposed to sunlight, and substances such as alcohol and hot oil cannot be used. But the advantage of PET is that it is very transparent.
2. PS cup
PS, Can withstand temperatures of around 60-70 degrees. It is usually used as a cold drink. Hot drinks can release toxins, making the cup brittle and sometimes causing it to rupture when lightly squeezed.
3. PP cup
PP, Compared to PET and PS, PP cup is the most popular plastic container material because it can withstand higher temperatures and is the only plastic container material that can be placed in a microwave oven.
Note: When choosing a disposable plastic water cup, you can identify the material of the cup by the bottom label. PP cups can hold both cold and hot drinks, while PET and PS can only hold cold drinks.
Whether it's disposable plastic cups or paper cups, it's best not to reuse them. Cold and hot drinks must be separated. Some illegal enterprises use recycled paper and plastic to profit others. All impurities are difficult to count and contain various heavy metals or other harmful substances.
